Off-Grid Monitoring at Loe Bar in Cornwall

Together with NIVUS, a bespoke off-grid monitoring solution was developed. The system uses advanced cross-correlation technology, powered by solar energy and secured with redundant sensors. It provides highly accurate flow and level data, supports flood forecasting, and reduces both costs and carbon emissions by minimizing site visits and eliminating over-pumping operations.

Since its installation in March 2025, the system has been running reliably without outages – a major step forward in protecting the town of Helston from flooding while safeguarding the unique environment of Loe Pool.
