XR-410 Electrode relay
Part No. KSE0 ER-XR 410For level switch
For limit level detection of conductive liquids as well as control of conductive liquids in Ex areas, for connection of conductive rod and suspension electrodes
- Cost-effective to purchase
- Ex-ia version for Zone 1
- Slim design – only 22.5 mm wide
- Visual alarm and operating indicator
- Adjustable for standby or operating current
- 2 potential-free outputs as SPDT
- Wide-range power supply 20–230 V AC/DC
Application
The XR-410 electrode relay is designed for use with our conductive electrodes and the TB float switch, which are installed in areas with explosive atmospheres.
It can be used in any application where conductive liquid media need to be detected, controlled or regulated.
This system can be used to implement limit level detection (overflow, dry running, maximum alarm) as well as minimum/maximum controls and pump controls (hysteresis).
The electrode relay acts as an interface between Ex and non-Ex areas. It must not itself be operated in Ex areas. The safe isolation has been tested and certified by TUEV Nord.
The relay can also be used as a contact protection relay, for example where sensors only allow a low contact load but larger loads need to be switched.
Construction
The electrode relay essentially consists of four functional units: a power supply, an intrinsically safe unit, two potential-free outputs designed as SPDT as well as measurement and evaluation electronics.
The relays, in combination with our rod and suspended electrodes – which are available in a wide range of types to suit various applications – form a complete functional unit for the detection, control and regulation of liquid levels.
Function
When the electrodes connected to the inputs are immersed in a conductive liquid, a small alternating current flows. This alternating current is analysed by the switching amplifier. If a set trigger value is exceeded, the relay is activated.
Typical applications for the XR-410
- Flooding alarms
- Dry-running protection
- Safety shutdowns
- Pump and valve control
- Control of filling and emptying processes
- Additional alarms
- Redundant measurements for other systems
- Activation of other measurement systems
- and much more
