Wireless Transit Time

Wireless. Precise. Anywhere.

Our Wireless Transit Time system enables the precise detection of flow velocities using the transit time difference method - without the need to lay cables through the river or canal. The sensor paths communicate wirelessly with the WTT communication unit. The system times on both sides of the river are synchronised via GPS - with an accuracy in the nanosecond range. This eliminates the need for river crossings or fixed infrastructure such as bridges.

In combination with a dedicated energy supply, new measuring points can be selected purely on the basis of hydraulic aspects. The installation effort is also significantly reduced.

System benefits at a glance

  • Wireless data transmission: No need to lay cables across the river - particularly advantageous for wide, inaccessible or protected sections of water.
  • High location flexibility: Measurement locations can be selected independently of existing infrastructure - ideal conditions for precise hydrological analyses.
  • Quick commissioning: Significantly reduced installation effort lowers project costs and speeds up installation.
  • Energy self-sufficien: Operation via solar panel and battery - ideal for long-term measurements in remote locations.

The System

The NivuFlow 650 W measuring system is ISO 6416, IEC 60041 and ISO 748 compliant and has been specially developed for flow measurement in canals and surface waters. Up to 32 measurement paths ensure maximum accuracy. A selection of sensor designs and installation accessories offers a wide range of options for optimised measurement at every measurement point.

Specifications

  • Up to 32 measurement paths
  • Path lengths up to 200 m
