Water means life and to ensure fair access to basic water supplies for the less privileged or those currently less well served NIVUS support Welthungerhilfe and their partner projects.
Viva con Agua is a network of people and organisations committed to establish access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation for all humans worldwide in close cooperation with Welthungerhilfe. To accomplish these objectives VCA supports a range of domestic and global projects.

We support so called WASH-Projects, which is short for the project components WAter, Sanitation and Hygiene.In the Korak, Gelu and Siddhakali areas in Nepal more than 22.000 people need access to clean drinking water and sanitary installations.

The project focuses strongly on local schools. Due to long ways to school, it is of uttermost importance that the schools are equipped accordingly.

Further, hygiene sensitisation is particularly effective with children as they tend to adopt new behaviour quickly.
The overall goal is to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation
installations.

Three main targets have been set to obtain the overall goal:

1. Strengthening community based institutions for water and hygiene management
2. Improve safe access to potable water
3. Enhance health and hygiene conditions of children, adolescent and women

Moreover the expertise gained is shared between partner organisations and other participants.

Families with severely ill or disabled children suffer from constant mental and physical strain as well as financial disadvantages.

NIVUS support the project "Familienherberge Lebensweg".
This project gives such families a time out from everyday life by supporting and relieving them from most burdens.
